Week 4 - bEATitude Diet

RESULTS: DOWN 11 lbs

state of sobriety = 28 days. weight as of 7am 2/28/05 = 229 lbs. loss for week ended 2/28/05 => 230-229 = 1lbs. total diet loss 4 weeks to date => 240-229 = 11 lbs. average weekly loss over 4 weeks = 2.75 lbs per week.

i increased my intake at lunch in order to try to reduce my hunger. usually i had a hot dog plus soup instead of just one or the other. it didnt real help my hunger and resulted in reduced weight loss. we went to benihana restaurant (one restaurant meal per week) on saturday with scott & kay. i had shrimp and steak with veggies & fried rice. i tried to make up for it sunday: we had a sandwich at class 301. i'm not discouraged though. my body is just adjusting and if i counted half pounds it was probably closer to a 2 pound loss.

very hungry all week. but routine of pre-determined portions and establishment of defined sobriety are highly motivating factors is success. one restaurant dinner out. then subway instead of pizza friday night. mary did most of the cooking this week as she was on vacation. this helped. very little exercise because of cold. i plan to increase my lunch a little to reduce hunger => soup plus hotdog plus apple. hope to exercise a health allows.

bEATitude diet - week 2 completed

Posted by Hello

RESULTS:
state of sobriety = 14 days.

weight as of 7am 2/14/05 = 234 lbs
loss for week ended 2/14/05 => 238-234 = 4lbs.
total diet loss 2 weeks to date => 240-234 = 6 lbs.
average weekly loss over 2 weeks = 3 lbs per week
.

REMARKS:
I ended the week well. I appears that weekends will be a determining factor as there are so many variables: lack of routine, timing of meals, meals with & for others, availability of healthy choices while away for home, long stretches between meals, and many others. Friday, Mary entertained a friend and asked me to meet her a church. I misunderstood and missed dinner in confusion. I broke out the peanut butter crackers (200 cal) from the trunk and that got me through CR & home (without desert from solid rock) to a bowl of soup & a sandwich for a late dinner. Saturday was a challenge as we went to the Autry Museum from 11:30 to 2:30, without lunch. The temptation for fast food was great as we drove to Griffith Park for a quick walk & the view. However, Mary was very supportive of my search for Subway and even split a foot long "7 sand's with less than 6 grams" low fat chicken sandwich with me at about 3:30 at Vermont & Sunset. Topped off by a glass of water of course. Sunday I was starving all day. But I stuck to it. I ate my oatmeal in the car on the way to church because I knew that I couldn't resist the donuts without it. We went shopping after church & Mary suggested getting chips. "Go ahead if you want, but you'll have to take them to school," stopped her. Mary made quiche for lunch & I employed adequate portion control. The in-laws were over for dinner. Rita brought appetizers and out of politeness and constant hectering I took one small bite only. Mary made the bessssssst spaghetti ever from my canned summer home grown tomatoes. With her home made meatballs. Wow. But one small helping with two meatballs, bread, salad, water and orange for dessert. Now, that's an act of God!

REFLECTION:
The commitment to sobriety is a very motivating factor. Not wanting to break the string becomes a competing desire. Sobriety is a black and white choice, a line drawn in the sand, a tangible boundary. Choosing to BE sober is easier than choosing NOT to eat.

Posted by Hello on my 19 day trip - i lost as many pounds.

The bEATitude diet – Defining food sobriety

Sobriety is the continuous state that exists while one’s behavior does not exceed certain pre-established limits.

Sobriety then is determined through the application of specific limits and boundaries.

In order for me to determine my sobriety in relation to food I hereby establish the following boundaries:

D 5pm-7pm Meat, Potato or Rice, Veg, Bread, Salad or Fruit

Other snacks of low cal low fat foods like carrots as desired.

Goal: 2000-2500 calories to average 2200.

No eating after Dinner or later than 8pm

Restaurants:

NO FAST FOOD – EVER ... NO DONUTS OR DRIVE THRU’S PERIOD !

No meals out Monday thru Thursday.

No more than twice per week.

Limited to soup-sandwich-salad or health type entrees. No chili fries.

Travel meals: Subway low fat 6 inch on wheat or the like, only.

Liquids:

64oz of water daily

NO Caffeine !

No more that one soda daily.

Goals:

To attain & maintain a healthy weight. To maintain sobriety as defined above. To work my program & let God work on the results. SW

THE HINDINBURG DIET

Here I am pulling in at fast food !

my previous diet = the hindenburg diet Posted by Hello
And the Blimp goes down !
"Oh, the humanity !"

Update - beatitude diet

monday - 1st weigh-in 238 lbs... down 2 lbs

i made an intentional decision that i would no longer allow my body to be abused.

then i didn't replace the junk as it was consumed (last week). i did not go to any fast food or donuts. i went out for meals only twice & watched quality & quantity. i eat oatmeat or cold cereal each morning with a banana. lunch was soup or sandwich with a apple. an orange or popcorn at snack. balanced dinner w/o 2nds. no desert (once the ice cream was gone). i only blew it wednesday when mary put out cookies for company & i finished off the bag the next day. grrrr! no caffine or sodas. no exercise over the regular house/yard work.

not a bad start.

this week: up the exercise !
